OFFLINE MAPS FOR Santiago de Chile!!
This new version of delivers a fresh user interface, superb performance, and a redesigned functionality totally OFFLINE.
Some functions available include:
- Turn by turn indications with on-board routing calculations. Again, no internet connection is needed. No GPS is needed also so you can use this with your ipod touch.
- Browse lots of Points of Interests in categories such as hotels, restaurants, bars, tourist attractions for any place you download. Totally offline!
- Search streets by name, crossing street and street number (where available).
- New True Maps rendering engine with vector maps allows the best performance, lower space requirements and the best looks of all.
- Night/Day navigation mode with a simple tap allowing to watch the map better at any time of the day.

Santiago de Chile 2 - Mapas Offline app good for
I am very impressed with this app. It is fast, responsive, complete and easy to use.
I have downloaded and paid for 5 "off Line" maps of Santiago. This is the only one that mostly works.
This one uses the GPS and knows your location. It will accept an address and give you a route there. The other 4 apps only send you to select business places.
This one actually shows the many one way streets with arrows almost big enough to see while you drive. This is good for wrong turns off the marked route.
BUT it actually crashes with the third bit of information requested. Then you pull over and start it up and punch in requests all over again. So only ask 1 where you are and 2 for your destination.
Another flaw is it will suddenly draw out ALL the streets as straight lines active the screen - so again you gotta restart it.
Very fluid, fast, good graphics and browsable offline. Definitively great
I honestly cannot express in words how much I completely appreciated this app during my three week stay in Santiago. I used and relied on it constantly! I recommended it to everyone who saw it (everyone was impressed). I only hope that I can find one similar to this one next time I travel; I would pay a lot of money for it!

Some bad moments
Often only a restart helps to run the program. A Cancel- Button is missing at different places.
I love this app for general directions and a view of where in the city I am in relation to roads, comunas, etc. but the app could really benefit from more info on restaurants, stores, etc.
Great map. All the streets I know are perfect, so those I dont know must be perfect too.
Service on Verizon not working but Maps works great in Santiago.
DO NOT BUY!,,,, The app seems ok but it is missing Las Condes section of north west Santiago. So you can not do driving directions or searches since it can not find your location. I would not buy it especially at $4.99 till they fix the map and update this 20 year old section of the map.
